What Are Double Glazing Units

Sealed insulated glass units that help stabilise indoor temperatures and improve day-to-day comfort.

Double glazing units consist of two panes of glass separated by a spacer and sealed to form an insulating cavity. That cavity acts as a barrier against heat transfer, helping interiors stay warmer in winter and cooler in summer than single glazing can typically achieve.

Depending on the build-up, insulated units can also improve acoustic performance, reduce interior condensation, and be combined with Low-E, tinted, laminated, or toughened glass to meet project-specific thermal, safety, and visual requirements.

Typical Advantages

  • Helps reduce heating and cooling demand across occupied spaces.
  • Improves acoustic comfort by limiting outside noise transfer.
  • Supports condensation control on interior-facing glass surfaces.
  • Can be tailored using different glass types, cavity widths, and spacer systems.
  • Suitable for homes, offices, facades, skylights, and larger glazed openings.
